Playlists

CBT Nuggets Playlists give you the power to create, organize, and share personalized learning paths. Whether you're a learner building your own journey or an admin leading team training, playlists help you focus on what matters most.

What Is a Playlist?

A playlist is a custom group of learning resources that you can build or follow. It can include:

  • Courses

  • Skills

  • Practice Exams

  • Playground Labs

  • Skill-Level Virtual Labs

Think of playlists as your own curated learning path, tailored to individual or organizational goals.

Types of Playlists

Personal Playlists

  • Created by individual users

  • Can be public or private

  • Great for managing your own training

  • Access:
    Go to Home > My Playlists

Internal (shared) Playlists

  • Created at the organization level

  • Can be assigned to individuals or groups

  • Ideal for structured team learning

  • Access:
    Go to your Org icon > Internal Playlists

Playlist Features

  • Customizable Content: Add or remove items at any time

  • Flexible Order: Drag and drop to set your preferred learning sequence

  • Follow or Assign:

    • Follow: Adds to “My Playlists”

    • Assign: Acts like a course enrollment and will support progress tracking in the near future

Track Learner Progress (Coming Soon!)

When playlists are assigned, admins will soon be able to track progress using Org Admin Analytics. This helps you monitor completion and learner engagement across your team.

Example Use Case

Let’s say your team needs to master 10 specific skills across different courses. Rather than assigning full courses, you can create a playlist with only those 10 skills — more focused and efficient.

Creating a Playlist

There are two main ways to create a playlist:

Create a playlist, then add content

  • Go to Home > My Playlists.
  • Click + New Playlist.
  • Name your playlist and (optionally) make it public to generate a shareable link.
  • Add content by browsing the CBT Nuggets library:
    • Hover over a course, skill, or lab.
    • Select More Actions 
    • Select Add to Playlist.
    • Choose your playlist.

Create a playlist as You Browse

  • While browsing content, hover over an item.
  • Select More Actions > Add to Playlist.
  • Choose an existing playlist or click New Playlist to create one immediately.
  • Decide whether it will be a Personal Playlist or an Internal Organization Playlist.
  • Name your playlist and confirm.

Assigning Playlists to Learners or Groups

Only internal (organization) playlists can be assigned.

  • From your Org Member section, select Internal Playlists.
  • Find the playlist you want to assign.
  • Hover over it and select More Actions > Assign.
  • Choose to assign to:
    • An individual learner, or
    • A group of learners.
  • Confirm your selection.

Learners and groups automatically receive an email notification when a playlist is assigned.

You can view assigned playlists under Organization > Groups, then select the relevant group and open the Playlists tab.
